K-WAM

Ali Read :: K-WAM Coordinator

She loves Birmingham having moved here as a student. She is passionate about B16 and believes the church has a critical role to play in flourishing city neighbourhoods, including family life. She loves her family and her VW camper van! However, she hates reversing.

K-WAM (kids with a mission) is the name given to our children’s Sunday morning groups at Christ Church Summerfield. Our desire is to provide a safe and caring environment in which to help our children to love God, love other people and to love life.

During Sunday morning services (2nd and 4th Sundays), children remain in the service for the first 20-25 minutes and then leave for their own exciting programme of fun and teaching. Once a month we have an all-age family service where the children and adults worship and learn together. Often during these services, the children have an opportunity to contribute through leading prayers, drama or readings. On the 3rd Sunday, we have informal Family Worship at 3.30pm.

Childrens' groups are led by someone with a full and clear current DBS check.

At Christ Church Summerfield, we also have a mums and toddlers group called The Little Ark, and have a great connection with other youth groups like Brownies, Guides and Campaigners!
